Breast lift surgery can correct breast sagging to produce more youthful and shapely breasts. Also called mastopexy, breast lift surgery removes excess tissue and lifts the breasts into a more attractive position. Women whose breasts lack youthful firmness and shape can reclaim these aspects by undergoing breast lift surgery with Mr Gwanmesia. Breast lift surgery repositions and enhances the breasts to restore a more attractive physical appearance as well as greater confidence and a more positive self-image for the patient.

Enhancing Your Breast Appearance

Over time, breasts tend to sag. The condition of breast sagging is called “breast ptosis” and can be caused by ageing, weight fluctuations, gravity, large breasts, or pregnancy and nursing. Sagging breasts may appear to rest on the upper abdomen rather than the chest wall. A breast lift raises the breasts and removes excess, sagging skin so that the breasts are situated higher on the chest. The result is breasts that are more youthful, natural, and aesthetically pleasing.
As the body ages, the skin on the breasts stretches further and further. With overstretched skin, the glandular tissue shifts downward, leaving areas of reduced breast firmness, especially in the upper breast. Breast lift surgery corrects this issue by removing excess skin and tightening the breast tissue so that the breasts are uniformly firm and full.
Young women typically have perky, lifted, and firm breasts that give their figures a curvy shape. As ageing occurs, the skin loses elasticity and strength. Loose breast skin cannot support the breast tissue, which leads to breast ptosis (sagging). As ageing typically leads to breast ptosis, older women tend to have sagging breasts that give them a “matronly” appearance. The breast lift procedure can help women of any age reclaim youthful breasts that portray a more beautiful and alluring body shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ideal candidates for breast lift surgery will meet the following criteria:
  • Overall good health
  • Non-smoking
  • Realistic expectations about the results
  • Mild, moderate, or severe breast sagging or drooping
  • Excess breast skin
  • Deflated breasts
  • Poor breast position and/or nipple placement
Complications are possible with any surgical procedure. While complications are rare, they may include bleeding, infection, numbness, loss of nipple sensation, and other rare concerns. As you follow Mr Gwanmesia’s instructions during recovery, you will minimize your risk of complications. If you notice anything unusual, contact Mr Gwanmesia right away.
Breast lift surgery is not designed to alter the size of the breasts, but it can be combined with breast procedures that do. However, even as a standalone procedure, removing excess skin and reshaping the breasts with a breast lift may cause the breasts to appear to change size. Some women’s breasts seem to shrink in size after breast lift surgery. Others may still have oversized breasts whose heavy weight contributed to their breast ptosis in the first place. Mr Gwanmesia can combine breast lift surgery with either breast augmentation or breast reduction according to your needs to provide more extensive improvements to the appearance and size of your breasts.
Breast lift surgery will not prevent you from becoming pregnant in the future, but it may make breastfeeding more difficult. It is generally recommended that women wait until they have finished having children before undergoing a breast lift; any pregnancies or breastfeeding may adversely affect the results of the procedure.
While gravity and the natural ageing process will continue to affect the breasts, results can be long lasting if patients maintain a stable body weight.
Patients will be able to return to work two weeks following their breast lift procedure or when Mr Gwanmesia clears the activity.
You will be asked to quit smoking for at least two weeks before and after your surgery to reduce any risk of complications from occurring.
It is typically recommended that women undergo breast lift surgery six months after their pregnancy or if they are close to their optimal weight.
Yes. Breast lift surgery can help reduce the size of your areolas at the same time as your procedure. Most patients do require an areola reduction so that the appearance of their breasts are as pleasing as possible.
All patients must wear their specialty compression bra between three and four weeks to help maintain their new contours and minimize swelling.
